Have a tiny amount of left-over wine and don't know what to do with it? Freeze it!
Whenever I have some wine left-over....I mostly use it within the next few days to poach fruit or make pasta sauce. But sometimes the amount is just so little that I can't think of what to do with it! Solution - pour it into an ice-tray and freeze some wine cubes! Once frozen, the cubes can be stored in a ziplock bag. But be quick while doing this...the wine cubes melt very fast, especially in the Indian weather!
What do you do with these wine cubes, you ask? Just pop out a few to use in dips, marinades, and sauces. Or when you have a lot of them, you can use them to poach fruit as well.

That's good suggestion! Then I'd always have it available for a quick pan sauce.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea. I still have some Red wine left and was wondering what to be done with it.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting idea. But I never have left over wine, we always drink it ;)
ReplyDeletehaha! I can imagine.....same goes for most people!
ReplyDeleteBut I end up with it quite often as my husband travels a lot....and I am somehow always trying to cut down on my calories....so I never finish the wine he leaves!!! :(
