Sunday brunch at The Lalit, Delhi

I would love to thank the person that came up with the concept of the Sunday Brunch. It's just the perfect way to unwind after a long week. And great weather along with live music makes it even more perfect! That is exactly the kind of afternoon I spent last weekend when I received an invitation from the nice folks at Perfect Relations for a Sunday Brunch at 24/7, a restaurant at The LaLit, New Delhi.

It was also a great opportunity to catch up with some of my food blogger friends, and meet some new ones as well. We had a nice time chatting over a sumptuous meal, washed down with some delicious champagne. The highlight of the brunch was definitely the live jazz being played by Drift. And eating outside in this perfect weather was a pleasure.

The restaurant offers cuisine from all over the globe, catering to alll types of palettes. Apart from the usual selection of salads, breads, cheeses, cold cuts, pasta, pizzas, etc, there was also a live grill, a sushi and shashimi counter, an egg counter. The dessert section is definitely worth more than one visit. In addition to the many types of pastries, mousses and parfaits, there is a beautiful chocolate fountain to tempt you as well. What I loved the most were the chocolate-covered strawberries!

There was a Bengali food festival going on that Sunday, which was an attraction to many. Being a vegetarian, I could not do justice to the Bengali food counter, though I did enjoy the Piyaji (onion fritters). And the Mishti Doi. But I did see the meat-eaters relishing several dishes.

One thing I found really cute were the heart-shaped breads, since it was the day before Valentine's! With its open kitchen, large french windows, and al fresco seating, 24/7 has a nice outdoor-like feel. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking to spend a pleasant afternoon with some good music and food.
