Grilled nectarines served many ways

As summer is on its way out, I'm trying to make the most of the delicious fruits and vegetables on the market right now. And in my fervor I think I ended up buying  a bit too much fruit on my last trip! So i used the opportunity to grill some nectarines for dessert. Nothing quite like grilling a fruit to bring out its natural sugars and intensify the flavour! Grilled nectarines, just like grilled peaches, can be a wonderful start for many different recipes.
Cut nectarines/peaches into slices, or simply halve them. Brush with some melted butter and let the grilling begin! Grilling time could vary from 5 to 10 mintues, depending on the type of grilling system used. Once they are nicely soft (but not squishy) and start to turn brown, turn them into whatever your tastebuds facny.
  • Sprinkle with some cinnamon powder and brown sugar
  • Sprinkle cinnamon powder and drizzle with honey
  • Drizzle with honey and vanilla
Serve the above as it is or with

  • ice-cream
  • sweetened whipped cream
  • ricotta cheese
  • feta cheese
Turn your dessert into a more flamboyant one by adding a slice of cake or some crumbled cookies.

Grilled nectarines and feta go really well on pizza as well....absolute slice of heaven! Of course, you might want to skip the honey, sugar, and cinnamon in that case.

Any more ideas?
