Jasmine tea in Cake?!

I recently read about green tea being used to make desserts and it struck me as odd. I couldn't imagine what the taste would be like. Skeptical as i was, it was an idea that intrigued me! It stayed at the back of my mind...until yesterday, when Rishab took me (as a surprise!), to a cafe inside le Musee de la Vie Romantique (the museum of romantic life...yeah, paris has ALL kind of museums imaginable)! We didn't visit the museum (so...alas...i can't tell you what it was all about!) but the cafe, called Les Cakes de Bertrand, was beautiful! It's one of the few hidden gems of Paris that very few people know about. They had some really delicious-looking salads, pies and cakes!

We ordered a regular-looking teacake, but as soon as i had my first bite, i was pleasantly surprised by the taste of jasmine tea filling my mouth!

The flavour was just amazing.....never knew it could make a simple teacake so exotic! I immediately thought back to the green tea idea...my skepticism flew away with one bite and now i can't wait to sample it! Cick here and here for a few recipes.
